This tutorial will guide you on how to manage and track product inventory using PantryEasy. By the end, you will know how to set up locations, manage inventory quantities, and monitor product levels.
Locations & Inventory Setup
1
Understand the Locations List screen
PantryEasy allows you to track product inventory at one or more locations. A location can serve as a storage site for inventory, a shopping distribution point, or both. The Locations List screen displays which features are enabled for each location. Use the filters at the top of the screen to view specific locations.
2
Enable inventory management for a location
To enable a location to manage its own inventory, find it in the Locations List and turn on the inventory slider. For example, if a location is currently pulling inventory from another pantry, turning on the slider allows it to track its own stock independently. Save the changes to apply.
3
Add products to the location's inventory
Once inventory management is enabled for a location, navigate to the Inventory screen for that location and begin adding products and their starting quantities.
Viewing & Managing Inventory
4
View product availability across locations
On the Products screen, you can see how many locations each product is available at for shoppers, and how many locations have that product in their inventory. Use the location and shopping location filters to narrow the view.
5
Open the Inventory screen
Click on the Inventory screen to manage inventory for all products. This screen shows all products at every location. To view a specific location, click on it in the filter panel.
6
Update inventory quantities
Update the current quantity of products as needed. For example, if you receive a shipment of 50 eggs, type 50 and press Tab to move to the next product. If 50 units of apple sauce were discarded, enter -50 to subtract that amount. Updated quantities are shown on the right before saving. Click Save Changes to commit.
7
Transfer inventory between locations
To move products from one location to another, click the Transfer Inventory button. On the Transfer Inventory screen, select a source location and a destination location, then enter the quantity to transfer for each product. Click Save Changes to commit the transfer.
Monitoring Low Stock
8
Monitor low-quantity products
To view products that are running low, go to the Dashboard screen and look at the Low Quantities widget. If there are low quantities at multiple locations, each location will be listed. Clicking the arrow next to a location drills into the specific products that are low at that location.
